Camouflage for 15mm Vehicles.

Take your nearly finished vehicle – in this case i have already gloss varnished it, but you don’t have to at this point.

1

Get a big sprig of Seafoam…

2

Snip it up into little sprigs….

3

Find a sprig that closely matches part of the vehicle in shape…

(NOTE – try to place foliage where it Wont be handled when picking up the vehicle – with these halftracks I tend to pick them up using a finger either side, so I keep the foliage to back and front of the vehicle)

4

Put some tacky-glue on the sprig using a toothpick….

5

Place sprig onto vehicle – don’t worry about it sticking up in places….

6

Do sprigs on the rest of the vehicle…

7

We’re using Tacky-glue again….

8

In place, now wait a few minutes for the tacky-glue to go really tacky….

9

When the glue is tacky you can gently press the sprigs onto the body of the vehicle and it should stick there instantly (as the glue is tacky)…

10

Do the same for the other sprigs….

11

Now take some “Scatter Grip” – Scatter Grip is a Liquid Tacky-Glue and Ultra, Ultra tacky (if you don’t have anything like this then use normal tacky glue) – add gently dab it onto the branches of the seafoam sprig using an old toothbrush….

12

Try not to make too many blobs and keep the glue to the ends of branches where possible…

13

Do the same for the front sprig – note here that i am also applying the scatter-grip to the underside of the sprig by lifting the brush upwards underneath he end bits…

14

Now get your foliage and generously dump it over the vehicle….

15

Turn upside down and tap off excess….

16

Whilst upside-down scatter more foliage underneath the seafoam sprigs (this is so that you get leaves on both sides of the sprig)….

17

Repeat for all sprigs….

18

Tap of excess….

19

and.. Voila – one camouflaged 250…

20

From the front….

21

rear….

22

and above…..

23

and finally a platoons worth…..

24

(NOTE – notice on the above how I’ve kept the sides free of foliage so they can be handled easily – the main platoon here has been through a good few battles so you can see the foliage is durable – it’s also easy and cheap to replace if it is damaged or pulled off!)
